Frequently Asked Questions

Clinical Questions

What Conditions Do You Treat?

I treat adults with anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, insomnia, burnout, and performance-related stress. Many of my patients are high-achieving professionals in their thirties, forties, and fifties who want to improve focus, clarity, and effectiveness at work and at home. Treatment is structured and goal-oriented. Whether the focus is anxiety treatment in NYC or executive performance, the approach is practical and evidence-based.

Do You Specialize in Adult ADHD?

Yes. I specialize as an adult ADHD psychiatrist in New York, particularly for professionals who struggle with organization, follow-through, prioritization, or mental overload despite being outwardly successful. ADHD in adults often presents as inefficiency or inconsistency rather than hyperactivity. Treatment may include cognitive behavioral therapy in NYC, executive function strategies, and medication when appropriate.

What Therapy Approach Do You Use?

I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, which is one of the most researched and effective treatments for anxiety and ADHD. CBT is structured and practical. You learn specific strategies that you can apply immediately rather than only discussing problems. Many patients begin noticing progress within the first several sessions.

Do You Prescribe Medication?

Yes. As a psychiatrist in Midtown Manhattan, I provide both psychotherapy and medication management. Medication is considered thoughtfully and used when it supports the overall treatment plan. Therapy remains central to long-term improvement.

What Should I Expect at the First Appointment?

The first appointment is a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation. We review your current concerns, work stress, sleep, prior treatment, and goals. You leave with clarity and a structured plan. Many patients begin implementing strategies immediately.

How Long Does Treatment Usually Last?

Treatment length varies depending on goals and complexity. Some individuals seek short-term focused work. Others pursue longer-term work to address deeper patterns. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure forward movement.

Location and Access

Where Is Your Office Located?

My office is located at 19 West 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, near Herald Square, Penn Station, and Fifth Avenue. If you are searching for a psychiatrist near Herald Square or Penn Station, the office is within easy walking distance of multiple subway lines.

Do You Offer Virtual Appointments?

Yes. I offer in-person appointments in Midtown Manhattan as well as secure virtual sessions for patients located in New York and New Jersey. Virtual sessions are structured and effective for busy professionals.

Is Parking Available?

Several commercial parking garages are located within walking distance of the office. Many patients reserve spaces in advance using services such as SpotHero or ParkWhiz.

Fees and Policies

Do You Accept Insurance?

The practice operates on a fee-for-service basis and is out-of-network. Many patients submit receipts for potential reimbursement. It is helpful to confirm your out-of-network mental health benefits and deductible before beginning treatment.

What Are Your Fees and Forms of Payment?

Fees vary by session length. Payment is due at the time of service. Operating outside of insurance panels allows for greater privacy and flexibility in treatment planning. Payment is accepted by cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard.

Do You Collaborate With Other Therapists?

Yes. Some patients are already in therapy and seek medication management or consultation. With your written permission, I can collaborate with your therapist to coordinate care.
